The Spirit Of Pride

by Apostle Gabriel Cross

Recently, I asked the Lord, why do so many of us wrestle or minister with the spirit of Pride or Leviathan? God replied, “Because many don’t want to or forget to ACKNOWLEDGE ME, they credit themselves, losing focus of ME. Don’t forget to Acknowledge the Lord in All of your ways…”

“…when the Lord your God brings you into the land which He promised…to give you, with great and goodly cities which you did not build, houses full of all good things which you did not fill, and cisterns hewn out which you did not hew, and vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and when you eat and are full, Then beware lest you forget the Lord, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.” (Deuteronomy 6:10-13 KJV)

  2. When material things are available in an affluent society people turn away from God, abandoning the source of all goods spiritual and material. Therein lies the danger of our modern day era.

    • Very true, Peter. Also they value things, their ambitions and what seems right in their own eyes rather than placing God first.

  4. So easy to take our eyes off the Creator of all things. His creation includes our very being and whatever gifts we may have! Pride is the apec sin as well as the root (beginning) of all things. Thanks for the post!

  7. In the Second Great Awakening, Charles Finney believed he and his team of prayer warriors needed to be broken by the Spirit every week or two just to keep them on the path of humility. He knew that staying small in his own eyes was the only way he could hold onto his anointing.

  12. The secular world believes sex was the original sin. But started with Lucifer and his sin was pride.

    • This is true. Pride gives place to many other sins because it leaves out God.
