The mercy of God calls for our complete surrender to him. No longer pleasing ourselves or others but living to delight the heart of God. Believers in Jesus, have the Holy Spirit living inside of them. Holy Spirit will transform how we think and will help us understand the Bible, as we read and meditate on it. Surrendering our thoughts for God’s thoughts, changes our response to our circumstances and empowers us to really live and not merely existing. Our focus turns to God not on our problems. God pleasing changes everything about us, in the best way!
Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship. Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes. (Romans 12:1-2 TPT)

I love how God works unity in the hearts of His believers! Here is an excerpt from Matthew Chambers devotional My Utmost for His Highest for today, December 9th that speaks in agreement to what you have written today:
“Sin belongs to hell and the devil; I, as a child of God, belong to heaven and God. It is not a question of giving up sin, but of giving up my right to myself, my natural independence and self-assertiveness, and this is where the battle has to be fought.”
Blessings,
Chuck
