Identity Theft?

by Hazel Straub

Victim of identity theft? Many believers, who have received Jesus as their Redeemer do not know who they are. The old man is dead, we are a new creation and alive in Christ. The dead do not sin, get offended or struggle with character flaws. We are changed into the image of Christ and his life, light and love. He gives us his identity and robes of righteousness. Your true identity cannot be stolen. Walk and live in Jesus!

So from now on we regard no one according to the flesh. Although we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:16-17 BSB)

  3. There is little in this world that matters besides knowing our identity and understanding our connection to God and others.

    • So true! There is no true meaning to life, without being in intimate relationship with God and knowing our identity through him. Your comment brought this Scripture to mind: Mark 12:29-31 TPT, “Jesus answered him, “The most important of all the comabdnebts us this: The Lord Yahweh, our God is one! You are to love the Lord Yahweh, your God, with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, with every thought that is within you, and with all your strength. This is the great and supreme commandment. And the second is this: You must love your neighbor in the same way you love yourself.” You will never find a greater commandment than these.”

We have been made in the imagine of God. When we’re born again, we our identity becomes Jesus Christ. That’s who the Father sees, when He looks at us!
