Your Way Of Thinking

by Hazel Straub

Our thoughts determine our actions. What we think about comes out of our mouth. It is so important to think on the good things and not the negative. Move towards God who is your Redeemer and Protector, in your way of thinking.

So may the words of my mouth, my meditation-thoughts,
and every movement of my heart be always pure and pleasing,
acceptable before your eyes,
my only Redeemer, my Protector-God. (Psalm 19:14 TPT)

  1. Nice post. Helps me to remember to say bible verses out loud. It really does help change my thoughts. Many blessings!

    • Yes, when we change how we think by speaking and rehearsing a Bible verse, things change.

  2. Yes! It makes all the difference! thank you Hazel. I was looking this week for a verse that helped in the situation where others who were controlling the conversation were negative and I came across Proverbs 26:20-21 “Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down. As charcoal to embers and as wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome person for kindling strife.”

    • Yes, our thinking directs our life. When we do not contribute negativity, the fire goes out, Lauren. I have found that when my thoughts are filled with the love of God, the fire of negativity is quenched.

    • “How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to Your word. ” Psalm 119:9 God will purify us but we need to guard our thoughts (heart) by replacing toxic thinking with the Word of God. It involves taking every thought captive through Christ.

      • Absolutely! Daily examining our thoughts by the word! I often get startled and realized I have slipped again – an unwholesome thought here and there! Mercy Lord!

  7. Yes we do, need to guard our heart above all …and He allows the slips so that we may remain broken vessels …very human imperfect vessels… not forgetting for one second that our only holiness and purity comes from Christ and Christ alone. Oh Grace, Grace, You give my heart wings to soar, to desire to soar, above all my inabilities and slips.
