Patience And Trusting God

by Hazel Straub

We get visions of using our gifts in a certain way. Although we plan towards a goal, we may find ourselves in a holding pattern. God wants us to rely and trust in him and his perfect timing. The waiting time helps you learn patience, as you wait upon the Lord. He will never disappoint and will help you mature during the wait! The end result is a harvest of blessings.

Yet I totally trust you to rescue me one more time,
so that I can see once again how good you are while I’m still alive!
Here’s what I’ve learned through it all:
Don’t give up; don’t be impatient;
be entwined as one with the Lord.
Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope.
Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you! (Psalm 27:13-14 TPT)

  1. I know this is true, but at times is too hard, and the container where the courage once was is now empty.

  5. Great word!
    I have been through several seasons where I felt like God was not using me at all. Then He opened new doors for me. Those “empty” times on the backburner turned out to be seasons when He was preparing me for something new.

    • You are welcome, Michael. Those times on the back burner are hard but so important for our next season!

  6. Reblogged this on My gypsy life and commented:
    There’s a song called “Teach me Lord , teach me Lord to wait.”. I don’t like waiting….but neither does the rest of the world. But someday the waiting will be over and I believe I’ll finally have someone special.

  7. One way Jehovah God shows His love is through patience. 2 Peter 3:9 reminds us that “Jehovah is not slow concerning his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.” His patience allows us time to learn about him, gain a close relationship with him and prepare ourselves for “his great and fear inspiring day”.
