Love of God Is The Best Weapon

by Hazel Straub

The best weapon against the enemy of our soul is loving others. The enemy does not understand love because he is filled with hatred, ruling by fear and intimidation. The love of God that comes from you will change the atmosphere from tense and threatening, to peaceful and loving. Use and release God’s love to others and see what happens!

“But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also. Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back. Do to others as you would like them to do to you. (Luke 6:27-31 NLT)

Hatred stirs up quarrels,
but love makes up for all offenses. (Proverbs 10:12 NLT)

  2. In deed love conquers all; I recently discovered that GOD loved us first with extravagant love hence He is the author of love and His love is sufficient in all condition

    • Yes, God sent his Son Jesus to die for us because of his extravagant love. His love changes us and turns enemies into friends.

    • I’ve also recently found this! I’m slowly altering my mindset on what love is. Not a fairytale romance from Hollywood, but a truly unconditional tenderness from the one who will never give up on us despite our hardships and setbacks in our relationship with Him.

  5. Such a great post! It’s very difficult to love those who hurt you, those who hate you, and those who wish you harm. I’ve just recently come to the conclusion that when faced with adversity we have 2 options:
    1. We can turn away, give up, run. We can close our hearts up and let them harden and become bitter.
    2. OR we can run towards the struggle, the conflict, the hurt and pain with open arms and a fully open heart, spreading love, strength and support.
Then we can become vulnerable and allow more love into our own hearts without feeling the need to filter who and what we let in to avoid suffering.

    • Releasing the love of God to others, changes everything for the better. Bitterness harms ourselves and others. Love is powerful!
