Our Beliefs Spring From Our Mouth!

by Hazel Straub

God created us in his image. He spoke and created the world. What we speak, brings either life or death and we live, with the fruit that comes out of our mouth. (Proverbs 18:21)

Our thoughts and the things on which we meditate, springs out of our mouth. For instance, when we think that we will get influenza because everyone else has it, we speak this and see it come to pass. If we instead meditate on what Jesus suffered for us, our speech will reflect this.  We will enjoy health that Jesus purchased by his wounds for us. Instead, we can believe and say, “I will remain healthy because Jesus took the flu on his body.”

We bring about what we believe and speak. Our speech is powerful!

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well- being for us was upon Him and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole. (Isaiah 53:5 AMPC)

  3. God’s speaking does bring forth miracles, but our speech and belief in Him isn’t going to keep us from getting the flu, or cancer, or any other ailment. Life still happens, even the bad stuff, when you’re saved. It’s with the comfort and power of God and His strength that we make it through those things. I completely agree with the ‘garbage in garbage out’ with our speech and that as Christians we are to do our best to live like Jesus did using the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the power of God. We should always take our worries, hopes, praises to God every second, and have faith in HIS path for us. Sometimes though, even though we have faith, God doesn’t lead us where we hope to go. So we will get the flu. We will get cancer. But that doesn’t mean God isn’t listening. He just has a different plan for us and we need to have faith and believe in that, even when our speech didn’t follow through.

I loved your post and I enjoy getting to exchange ideas! I am a follower of your blog and thank you for your strength and willingness to speak of God fearlessly in this world today. You are a blessed woman!

    • So often we invite sickness or trouble with the things we say. Job said the things I fear came upon me. Our words bring life or death. I have seen this happen many times in my life. Thank you for loving the post and your kind words.
