I woke up crying uncontrollably, seeking the Father, about what was going on. I felt like I was grieving, like someone had died.
The Lord spoke, “Yes, it is a death or deadening, a funeral, to the things of the past. That which no longer is conducive for the season you’re in now. I am causing you to die to some things, desires, emotions, ways, and even, some wrongs suffered. Have you ever seen anyone, buried, in the grave, whining about how someone mistreated them, or wrestling with an addiction, or crying because of someone else’s actions?”
I responded, “No Lord”. He then replied, “This is what I am doing to you, I am causing you to DIE, BE DEAD to the old things, so that you can LIVE TO THE NEW, the NEW THINGS, I’ve planned for you.” Die to what has hindered you, so you can Live to what I have, the BEST FOR YOU!

I understand this. Things I used to enjoy are dead to me now. I couldn’t understand why I had changed so much. Then I figured it was God, taking away some of the desires and wants of the world from me. He then filled their empty space with things I love even more.

Amen! That is the best funeral ever, to be able to die from our past. Some things, people should have buried a long time ago but they keep going back and revisiting those things and that is why they cannot get any further than where they are, because they will not let go of what needs to be left behind; whether it is a person, place or a thing.
