Love Beyond Yourself-Love Your Hater

by Apostle Gabriel Cross

Love beyond yourself.

If your love doesn’t carry you beyond yourself, it isn’t love. “And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; Though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.” (2 Corinthians 12:15). In the natural, one loves expecting love in return. Paul says, “I do not care whether you love me or not, I am willing to destitute myself completely, not merely for your sakes, but that I may draw you to God.

The real test for the Bride is not in her preaching the gospel, but washing the feet of others. Also doing things that do not count in the real estimate of men, but matters, for everything, in the eyes of God.

God delights in the bride, when she spends herself for God’s interest, in other people. Not caring what the cost will entail; and doing it gladly. A lot of what we call love is really affection because it doesn’t go beyond ourselves. Love beyond yourself today, and love your Hater.

  1. Loving my haters? I do love and pray for them, but sometimes I feel like I would be justified if I call fire down from heaven like Elijah. Lord forgive me and please help me to love like you love me. At least a little more than I love now! Amen

  3. Such a powerful message, Brother Gabriel — and one we must be reminded of regularly. This world makes it very hard to love some people, but God’s love is so big that it makes us able to do it if we give Him full rein in us. Thanks for the reminder.

    • Love changes everything. The enemy doesn’t understand love and it is the most powerful weapon. God’s love changes us from the inside out.

  9. Nailed it! Love will always say, “I love you even if you don’t love me.” Anything else is not truely love.

That is truly the best example of Christian love I have ever read and thank you so much for sharing. God Bless, SR

    • Yes, we follow the example of Jesus. He even washed Judas’ feet, who betrayed him. This love is filled with humility. God bless you!

  11. I don’t know why I have loved haters before and other haters I hate inside of me. I don’t know why this is so. Some I have unconditional love for, I do not feel the same about everyone even though I know it is spiritually wrong. I just ask God to deal with this in me.

    • When we can’t love our haters, we can ask Jesus the forgiver who lives inside of us to help us forgive and love.
