Focus On The Promise Maker

imagesby Hazel Straub

You empower and bring to life, whatever you focus on and think about. Don’t dwell on the problem but on the Promise Maker. Magnify the Lord not the problem. The bigger your problem, the bigger the provision he has for you. It is time to take your eyes off of the circumstances, where you find yourself, and lift up your eyes. See Christ Jesus seated at the right hand of the Father with the enemy under his feet. This is the realm, where we also dwell. God created us in his image and when we look to him, worship and praise him for his goodness to us, our perspective changes. We become more like him, as we gaze at him. We dwell in a higher realm and the dust storms no longer obscures our vision.

So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective. Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life—even though invisible to spectators—is with Christ in God. He is your life. (Colossians 3:1-3 MSG)

Very powerful. The Lord has had me meditating and teaching on these exact truths this week as well. When we can see ourselves seated with Jesus at the right hand of God, we see problems and pray about them from “up there” rather than from “under the circumstances.” Thanks for this reminder to be “heavenly-minded.” We can’t be reminded too often.

Amazing how Holy Spirit highlights the same truth to others at the same time. When we get God’s perspective, so much is no longer important. We can see so much clearer without dust in our eyes. Life is so much easier when God reigns and we are with him! 🙂
