Having Trouble Sleeping?

by Hazel Straub

While I was praying, I asked the Lord why many Christians were having sleepless nights and difficulty sleeping. He replied that their focus was not on him but on other things. They have been taking their worries to bed and not giving them to Lord.

Doubt and unbelief that God will solve their problems fill their minds. Instead they rely on themselves and not him. Also they have not used the time of disrupted sleep to seek the Lord and to get his counsel.

We are coming into a new season with the old routines disrupted and broken so we can embrace the new. God is calling his people to come closer to him and to rely on him more fully. He is breaking the old and familiar. He is calling for those that hear to spend time with him, in the night hours seeking his wisdom and counsel, in this new season. We need greater dependency on him, so we can excel in the new season that will have disturbing events happening.

The Lord is calling for a new awareness of him in our lives. Then circumstances will not sway us but  we will rest in him. What causes fear in others will be a catapult for souls to enter the kingdom of God. His desire for us is readiness and victory.

Diane, God knows our address and all of our needs. He is close and never leaves or forsakes us. We might not consult him but he still loves us. I’m so glad that this spoke to you. Love you! Hazel

Sleep and rest is a true blessing from the Lord. When our last conscious thought as we lay down is to say goodnight to the Lord, thanking Him for the day and His guidance through it, we sleep in peace and wake refreshed to say ‘good morning’ to Him who has watched over us through the night and is waiting to guide us through another day.

    What an amazing God!

Yes, God is totally amazing! He gives us peaceful rest when our hearts are stayed on him rather than worries.
