Winds Of Change

by Hazel Straub

Fairbanks, Alaska has been a place where the wind does not blow and the air is still. Change, however, is upon Fairbanks and the winds are blowing.  Dead trees are toppling and unproductive branches fall to the ground.  It is impossible to remain unchanged by the wind. The sound of  the wind whistles in the ears. Listen to the wind. The wind is fanning fires that devour the forest and blow smoke into the city.

Winds of change are blowing. It is no longer business as usual. No longer can you say, this is a place where the wind does not blow. Great change is upon you. The expected is no longer seen nor can it be relied upon. Receive the unexpected “suddenly.” Suddenly, the disciples in the Upper Room heard the sound like a mighty rushing wind and flames as of fire appeared, upon their heads. Wind and fire go together. Accept the winds of the Holy Spirit and the accompanying fire.

This is a new season and God’s breath is blowing upon you.  Fire comes with the winds to burn the old and cannot be controlled by men. His wind is making internal changes to you. It is carrying you into a new place that requires new ways of thinking and relating. Listen to the wind of  the Holy Spirit, as it shapes you into Yeshua’s image. Rest and rejoice, as the winds fan the flames that change you! Embrace the winds.
